I'm thinking of making a day trip to the Mud Festival, and I'm wondering if there's much worth seeing. I know a lot of people go to get drunk, but that doesn't interest me anymore, so is it worth making a trip to see whatever else is going on?
Thanks |

Depends on the weather. The beach is decent and can be fun during the day. There are usually footie and ultimate games going on, mud-based activities, and decent grub around the festival.
It's a haul for a day trip, especially by bus. You're looking at 6-7 hours roundtrip, and that's if traffic is decent. |

Tbh if you don't want to be around thousands of people, a VAST majority of them 20 - 30 yr old ESL teachers getting drunk in an atmosphere that'll send you back to University Student Union days and if covering yourself in mud or seeing others covered in mud isn't your idea of fun - there's really no point in going.
It's a party, first and foremost. |
