When I came to Korea in the halcyon year of 2000, I lived in Hongdae, and there were a lot of places -- from HD on up to Idae -- where you could buy T-shirts to fit a foreign physique.
These days? Not so much. I'm pretty skinny at 6 feet and 150 pounds, and even I can't find T-shirts that aren't fit for a 12-year-old boy to wear. I used to find some decent Ts in Itaewon, but all of the stores I used to shop in there seem to have converted to strictly XXL-size stores. I've had no luck at Dongdaemun in the past, but apparently there are places that sell western size large. Anyone know where? |

| kinda expensive, but you could try american apparel... i know that they make "long skinny" tshirts and other clothes... there's one pretty close to dongdaemun... read up on the company & its treatment of its employees, and you may feel better about spending $20 on a tshirt from them... |

Have you read about American Apparel's CEO recently? It might change your opinion on how the company treats its employees. |

Have you read about American Apparel's CEO recently? It might change your opinion on how the company treats its employees. |
The man wants to know where to buy a T-shirt, not a lesson in business ethics. Have you tried Marks and Spencer in Apkujeong, btw? |

I have a wholesale license with American Apparel so I'm not trying to dissuade the OP from purchasing their merchandise. They make a great quality t-shirt.
I was simply responding to the post on how they treat their employees as a reason for purchasing AA merchandise. |

yeah, i've read about the ceo of the company and how he's had a few accusations made against him by female employees... and yes, i think that's a little unscrupulous, but i was really referring to the way the "company" (not the ceo per say) is geared towards an extremely positive environment for the garment makers... such as transportation, bicycles, english classes, lunch, stock, bonuses, double the wage of many of the other LA based garment makers, etc. .. in this aspect, i think it's a good company... and even more importantly, it's made in america when many other tshirts/clothing is made in sweatshops in third world countries...
oh, before anyone comments, i do realize that there are still "sweatshops" in america, but this company isn't one of them at all... that's why the clothes are a bit pricey...
side note: they've also got a side line of organic cotton clothing... if interested... |
