Some people seem to be fluent in Korean on here. Has anyone been on a hangeul message board where koreans talk about waegooks? See what they're saying about us?
I imagine there are a fair few koreans doing the vice-versa on here. |

Of course there are. One indicator of Korean public opinion is the comments found underneath stories on newspaper websites. |

newspaper sites aren't really the equivalent of this board though are they?
I get the odd snippet of strange ideas koreans have against waegooks (e.g we have a 'meat smell' about us), but was basically wondering about common opinions about us, I can never really get that by talking to korean friends, because by default they know a lot about westerners already. |

The main difference is that the members cannot create their own topics, as the topics are the newspaper articles themselves.
However, to the extent that the users are registered and make comments on the topic and on other posters's comments, they are quite similar to this board. Take a look for yourself.
But I do know what you're talking about as far as general opinions. Try this:

Wonderful site, I loved it. However, it's mainly comprised of gyopos, and those interested in K-Pop. Many of them seem very young (teenagers?)and they all seem to be completely fluent in English.
I haven't actually searched for boards or forums dedicated to koreans commenting on waegookins, but I'm sure there may be a few if you look hard enough. I doubt that they would spend much time on such boards and it would probably be pretty empty. Games and chatting seem to be the thing. |

Another equivalent is interest groups/forums/message boards connected to WWW portals such as Naver and Daum. Many have quite active discussions and high traffic.
For comments about foreigners specifically, there is a Daum cafe devoted to international relationships where this is a regular topic, for example. |

Hell no. I had this name way before that punk stole it from me.

Hahaha, only in name.
There's a lot of competition between these forums, bragging rights and so forth I guess.
When people are shut down by zealous mods, they just move with their feet and take over another one.
The sheer number of stupid posts means that you really don't do much. There's only so much one man can do.. :)

Some Korean guy has posted a link and our on a Korean bulletin board regarding our soon-to-be-open board game cafe. Let's see what he has to say:
ܱ ϴ 䰡 23Ͽ ϴ.
 Ƽ 26 7.
̵̶ ϴ°͵ .
Thanks for the promotion! Us "big-noses" enjoy playing games with Koreans, too.
Someone follows up:
ѱڵ Ϸ ڱ.
I certainly hope so... Our entire enterprise is all about me scoring with chicks!
Another poster throws in his two cents:
̴ ַ ڳ.
I'm not gonna translate that... you'll have to figure it out for yourself.
I knew I'd have to face Korean racism eventually... but I never thought I'd see it before we even opened!

That last line is a killer.
It's sad to see, and if they want to miss out on ALL THE HOT CHICKS that will be playing games here, I don't see how that will be a problem.
Clowns.

I wonder how well that business will do. I hope it works out for them. I'd like to open a DVD bang someday. That's the life. |
