Most kids are cruel and criticizing at times, but that doesn't make them racist. LOL
This seems so silly that they would try to catch racism in nurseries. I say just teach them it's OK that everyone are different unique individuals and should not be criticized for being so. Teach them to think instead of trying to control them by force iron fist discilpine as that won't change their racist beliefs. LOL Those little bad behaviors are a demand for attention and recognition, but do not indicate if a child is a racist as a child is still innocent despite ill behaviors they all exhibit from time to time.

What are they going to do to kids that act racist other than report them to the local council? Will they file a lawsuit against the parents? How silly...

After reading these tiny little articles; this is what I've got from them.

1) The focus of this report is on trying to identify racism at an early age. Just so nobody is labouring under the impression it's 340 pages of "when a child says 'yuk' she or he is racist"

2) One of the paraphrased sentences from the report reads:
Quote:
It means staff could be called on to investigate why a child said "yuk" in response to being given an unfamiliar foreign food.
Now, given how western educators use the word "investigate", that could mean nothing more than saying "You don't like the food? What is it that you don't like about it?". It's not as though all people involved will have to fill out reports and submit them to anyone. That's absurd. Unless someone could read the original report and address that.

3) Children absolutely CAN express racist/prejudice sentiments, but it isn't usually much more than an empty expression. Children are great mimickers; especially of parents. They may not necessarily feel hatred attached to those sentiments, but that doesn't mean they can't verbalize them.
I have seen kids express those sentiments and not mean them. But I HAVE heard from other teachers/day care workers that have had racist kids; younguns showing racist attitudes towards other kids with hate behind what they say.

4) The report does not say that "Yuk" means a toddler is a racist. It means that it could be considered a possible indicator.

5) At NO POINT have I read the phrase "spicey food": The phrase "unfamiliar foreign food" was used every time. Stuff like this:
http://listverse.com/miscellaneous/top-10-disgusting-foods/

6) There are parents out there who are really fucked up and they destroy their kids in the strangest, most unpredictable and at times, just plain sad ways. I can very easily see parents raising a racist 3 year old.

7) I HATE this kinda crap actually. It is reports like this that keep me from thinking that psychology is a real science. Just bollocks.

In a free society people have the right to be racist and people have the right to hate racists.

In a fascist society, the government tries to control the people, for example by stamping out racism by investigating and destroying the lives of innocent children.

Winston must be rolling over in his grave. Brother Adolph has come to power in Britain.

The kids are to be reported to local councils.

What we are seeing in the UK and in Canada with the HRC's is two-three generations of liberal arts flunkies now working their way into positions of bureaucratic power in government. These people were fully unemployable in the real economy and instead found work with NGO's/government or as teachers. They absorbed the anti-Western, post-colonial guilt that dominates liberal arts education and are now applying this garbage from their protected chairs of authority. For them, racism means white people with preferences. Notice how muslim kids aren't going to be monitored for a dislike of boiled chicken. Racism, multiculturalism, diversity and tolerance are a one way street. That is, white = bad and nonwhite = oppressed by white. Always and forever.

Mises I looked at that pdf and it's only the table of contents. While I believe PC can get out of control, again let me state when I only see the media cherry picking 4 sentences from a 300 page document, I'm skeptical.

Yeah, just the contents. You gotta pay for the book.

There are now 53 MSM stories on this subject, according to news.google.com.

You can go to the site provided before and wander around their other writings. It is harrrrdd left racist under every rock nonsense.

And you know, a lot of the times, I've found that even when there is a smoking gun, some document proposing a Brave New Worldish scheme to mold the young into obedient serfs on the p.c plantation, it's not something that's ever going to be applied anywhere outside of some desk-jockey bureaucrat's fantasies.

Plus, let's face it. With or without centralized guidance, school teachers have pretty much always inflicted their petty neurotic obsessions on their charges. I remember in Grade 4, one of my classmates said to another classmate "You wanna bet?", in the sense of "I don't believe what you just said". The teacher overheard this and went on a tirade about how we should never use that word because gambling is evil. This same teacher also told us that the song Short People, which to most of us is a pretty obvious send-up of bigotry, was offensive to short people(she was very short herself).

Now, I suppose if this woman had managed to get into the educational bureaucracy, she'd have been firing off memos against usage of the word "bet" in the classroom, and against Randy Newman records being played in the lunch room. How much actual real-world impact that would have is debatable.

OTOH, the report says that toddlers should be reported to authorities for their culinary preferences.

BBC:
Quote:

It said: "A child may react negatively to a culinary tradition other than their own by saying, 'Yuck!"'.
That may indicate a lack of familiarity with that particular food, or "more seriously a reaction to a food associated with people from a particular ethnic or cultural community".

Telegraph:
Quote:

Nurseries are encouraged to report as many incidents as possible to their local council. The guide added: "Some people think that if a large number of racist incidents are reported, this will reflect badly on the institution. In fact, the opposite is the case."

That is a sign of a rapidly closing society, in case the CCTV didn't give it away.

Well yeah, but the question then becomes, how many teachers, in practice, are actually going to a) regard every instance of a child saying "yuck" as indicative of racism, and b) go to the trouble of reporting these kids to the authorities?

And does "report to the local council" mean actually walk into the council meeting and give the name and address of each and every kid who didn't like a food? Or does it just mean go to council and say something like "Last year, we had X number of racist incidents at our school", with kids saying "yuck" just reported as part of the aggregate?

Who knows. The point is that this is what a government funded agency thinks ought to happen. This is an example of how far gone the education establishment is.

Yes. Apparently so. The idea seems to be to deal with the parents who helped little Timmy develop an aversion to pollak.

Again, sorry 3 lines out of 300 pages I don't find compelling.

Just another example in a long list of what happens when you allow government types to babysit your children. Schooling, indoctrination.

Starting earlier and earlier.

Most of you don't see it because you don't know the difference between schooling and an education. One doesn't get the latter in a government school.

He gets trained, schooled, not educated.

They're racist. Or religious. Does it matter?
