Sorry, I know there was a great thread on this a while ago but stuffed if I can find it!

I'm planning to do an overnight temple stay in August & would like to hear from others about their experiences.

On the website http://eng.templestay.com/temple/list.asp?indiv_chk=1
- which is awesome - each temple comes under one of these categories:

Templestay with translation service (individual)
Templestay without translation service (individual)
Templestay without translation service (group)
Templelife with translation service

Has anyone (non-Korean speakers) done a templestay without a translation service & did you find it ok? I don't speak Korean & the closest temples to me don't offer this service - should I make the effort to travel further to one that offers the translation service. Is it worth it?

It's not just a matter of distance, the smaller temples which I'm more interested in don't seem to offer the translation service, while the ones that do are the bigger temples which interest me less.

Basically I'd just like to hear any stories/advice from those that have been there done that, or know people who have.

Since Korean Buddhism is mostly of the Zen tradition, language shouldn't be a big factor. But if you need English speakers, you might want to try Musang Temple near Daejeon, as it has a large foreign monk population.
