Sorry, you are wrong. It doesn't happen in America. There used to be racism, but you simply do not see racist behavior anymore. I have never seen anything like that in my adult life.

And I doubt racism is common in European countries, especially liberal nations like The Netherlands.

Are New Zealanders racists?
Heck, do you even have openly racist behavior in South Africa, anymore?
I think most of the civilized world has realized racism is wrong, and has grown out of it. Just because a few stupid, immature individuals might be racist doesn't make a whole nation racist.
When a nation has laws against racism and enforces them, when it has social values opposed to racism and people support them, and when it teaches its children that racism is bad, that country is not racist.
When a country has laws that support racism or are enforced in a racist way, when it has social values that encourage racism, and when it teaches its children to be racist, that country is racist.
Apparently, some countries think that every other country is racist, therefore it is OK for them to be racist.
Wrong.
Even IF every other country was racist, that still would be no justification for that nation's racist behavior.
And even if everyone else in a country were racists, that is no justification for one individual's racist behavior.
Racism is wrong by any standard of morality or decency, whether by one individual or by an entire nation.
Korea, on the other hand, has one simple precept of morality: If everyone does the same thing, believes the same thing, then it MUST be right.
The Korean corollary: If one person does something, believes something, contrary to what everyone else does or believes, then they MUST be wrong.
I have NEVER heard the phrase "Everyone knows that..." so often as in Korea. Korea is the land of baseless generalizations.
Sorry, I don't know that.
If you see a poster saying "Everyone knows that..." or "Everyone does that...." my guess is they are probably a Korean.
American's do not go around saying "Everyone knows...." all the time. Sorry.
Not all Koreans do this, of course. But I don't see many speaking out against this nonsense. |

Not in polite company, no...but over a few beers at the local those dirty nignogs are nothing but trouble.
IMO this ad was an honest mistake and maybe a bit of preciousness on the behalf of black expats. |

About the monkey, ape, beast, whatever.
This poor animal has been compared to humans probably since time began. Why? Because of their closeness to our characters. I don't see it ending anytime soon, so just get over it.
Monkeys are famous the world over for 'aping' (sp?) behavior just to pass the time. This is why little kids get called monkey. ANYONE, whatever race, color, creed, can display those behaviours, and politicians in particularly deserve this.
They throw feces too. This popularized the schoolyard game, Monkey in the Middle, to beat up on a 'monkey' in a fun, competitive way showing our superiority as a race and using a toy instead of shit. But still satisfying our basic instinct to throw stuff and beat up on people?
Sure there can be some sly innuendo attached to examples like this. And being called a monkey can be an insult, but I don't see it as anything derogatory to any particular race. |

I wonder if it dodn't have anything to do with Obama and was actually directed at BUSH...?
THink about it. Everyone thinks of Bush as a monkey and the protesters in the background have signs saying 'Change.'
It;s an add abotu changing your network etc for a better one.
Right now the US is in the middle of a proccess of changeing the president...
The monkey is Bush, not Obama.
Literally and figuratively.... |

All I can say is if it were Korea, the connection would have been intentional and understood by the viewer, even by a child.
I had a student who, upon seeing a picture of a black man on my computer monitor, which happened to have CNN.com up, pointed, laughing, and said: "Monkey! Monkey!" like it was some sort of hilarious joke.
Maybe the Japanese children are not taught to be racists, but apparently many Koreans are. |
Yeah, no other countries in the world would ever dream of doing something so heinous. Especially not in Europe. The fact that they (adults) throw bananas and make monkey noises whenever a black person touches the ball during soccer games is all coincidental.
Also, it's a little bit ridiculous of you to label other people as racist when you have the username gollywog don't you think? |
This still happens in Spanish, Italian and Eastern European football, however UEFA does crack down on it from time to time. In the UK, racism is not tolerated in the slightest, not at least on the football pitch. |

I dunno, there's racism everywhere, and I agree that racism isn't good for anyone.
I've noticed that Asia (China, Korea, Japan) is far behind the west and Europe in social awareness and global egalitarism. These countries have been used to being uni-ethnic and run by despots....let's be realistic. China is just coming out of a communist coma. Korea should know better but the culture, I believe, is like the culture of all of these countries...xenophobic. I doubt they will change much no matter what. |

This pisses me off  First, Where is the connection to America? and second through the war actions of America, racism towards the middle-east has spread, how fucking hypocritical to claim this advert is offensive whilst they spread propaganda against Iraqis, Afghans, Iranians, and so on. |
