I used to randomly call numbers and when I got a senior citizen, I would tell them I was from the local supermarket butcher and said if they could say moo 10 times in 5 seconds that they would win a meat voucher. It was pretty funny on speakerphone, 1st year of uni on the green.

Here's one:

Call a random house or possibly an acquaintance. Call and ask for someone like Randy:

"Hello, may I speak to Randy, please?"

"Sorry, but you must have the wrong number."

"Oh. Sorry then. Goodbye."

Do this a few times. Reply with, "How do I keep dialing the wrong number?" and so on.

Finally, on maybe your 5th call:

"Hello."

"Hello, this is Randy. Have there been any calls for me lately?"

The Jerky Boys were pretty funny.

When my friend and I were about 15, just before call display came out, we spent a Sunday afternoon calling every independent contractor in town listed in the Yellow Pages. If there was no answer, we'd leave a message on their answering machine saying that we were from an equipment rental agency and we'd be delivering the two front-end loaders they needed to their work site first thing Monday morning. We then gave them the name and number of some equipment rental shops we also got from the Yellow Pages. Monday morning must have seen a lot of confused conversations between contractors and rental agencies.

What is it about boys in thier mid-teens and the joy they get out of fucking people around for no reason whatsoever?

We called a plumber to the house across the street once. It was funny when he got there and the people told him that they didn't call a plumber. He kept pointing to his clipboard. That was before caller ID and *69 mind you. Ahh the good old days.

The gag also worked with contractors like remodeling guys and roofers. We hit the same house all summer.
