So I live in Busan and like it alot. I am thinking of doing a second year and am thinking of alternative places to go. I am seriously considering either Gwangju or Daejeon.

I know only bits of information on both cities, but Daejeon would be cool because of its locality near Seoul.

Gwangju because its in the southern part of Korea, the other half that I dont know yet.

Any opinions to help swade me would be good.. or alternative places?

What is it you are seeking to get out of living in Korea? Rural nature with more polite friendly people, but less services and western things, or big city life with all the action, or a mid sized city with easy KTX access to Seoul such as Daejeon?

We all have different preferences in how we design our lifestyles. While I like the rural Gangwon place I picked for my 2nd year, many would hate it as it's in the most remote part of rural Korea, but great for those who enjoy nature, simplicity, and down to Earth kind of people. I did live in the fairly large city of Changwon last year and didn't like the pollution, rudeness, and spoiled ill behaved rich brats, but other teachers love living in Changwon and end up staying many years.

And the best part of my 2nd year choice, I love small town/rural students as they generally have a great attitude with a sincere willingness to learn and act decent. I feel I could stay a very long time with my current situation and hope to make it so.

Good luck in finding your niche. Let us know what kind of situation you want and then we can shoot out suggestions.

I think a mid sized city like daejeon would be nice. but i do love nature and am taking a 5 day trip to gangwondo next week to check it out. if i like it i might choose there. But changwon might be a nice mixture of both. I'll be in Donghae seeing what that is like.
