We called a plumber to the house across the street once. It was funny when he got there and the people told him that they didn't call a plumber. He kept pointing to his clipboard. That was before caller ID and *69 mind you. Ahh the good old days.

The gag also worked with contractors like remodeling guys and roofers. We hit the same house all summer.

Ah yes, what a lot of fun *69 ruined. Thank goodness it came out just after early adolescence for me. Remember the days when pizza and Chinese delivery places always asked for a number so they could call back and verify that they weren't bringing a pile of food someone ordered to a friend's house as a prank?

Call the phone number of someone you know isn't home, say "Ask them to call Myra Maines," and leave the phone number of a funeral home.
Then, when the person gets back and receives the message, the person will call the funeral home and says, "May I please speak to my remains?"

I was a hellian with prank calls when I was junior-high age. Especially in my neighborhood. Some not so innocent. Had one mother worried about the whereabouts of her son (he was older than me and it was somewhat of a revenge thing).

Remind me not to get on your bad side.

What was the Jerky Boys one where the guy was calling about a car salesman job?

And "Arnold Calls Safeway" was magical.

My favourite line was the guy enquiring about job who said he had to quit his previous job 'because I had a little difference of opinions with my fucking boss'.
