I still have a while before I have to find another job. My current hagwon is pretty cool considering the franchise name but I'll still have to get my affairs in order eventually when I apply for another job. For you veteran ESL teachers did you have to get copies of your transcripts from your University every time you changed jobs, and 2 letters of recommendation. They aren't hard for me to get it just means I'll have to make sure I have them.

TRANSCRIPTS, YES... you need new ones every time you change jobs. Immigration is not known for their efficiency. They are an immigration requirement for EVERY application.

Letters of reference will depend on who your next employer will be. Some want them, some don't. They are not an immigration requirement.

that's insane. You're degree isn't rescinded and if you're there on an E-2 than you have your degree...

Thanks :D for the help.

I hear ya...it is totally illogical since you are already here and you can't get an E-2 without jumping through all the hoops to get it. It's like I get in trouble because I only have a notarized copy of my Master's degree but they want to see the 1st university degree. I explain that I don't need it because I can't get into graduate school without a regular university degree. It goes right over their heads.

But as you have read here and seen in Korea, there are lots of things that don't make sense to us. That's just the way it is. These are all some of the many things you can tell your family and friends when you get home. Some of these stories are good entertainment at a party.

So, call your uni and get a bunch of them. I spent a few bucks and got 6 copies sent to me. 3 that I used a 6 months ago and the rest just in case.
