I go to Ilsan about once a month to visit a friend. It's a nice place but it seems like there's nothing interesting to do there other than Lake Park. I'm not talking about drinking spots or restaurants, just fun things to do during the day (preferably not too pricy). Any ideas??

1. Lots of people get off the subway at Gupabal (or Jichuk) and hike the mountain around there on the weekends. Bring a picnic and camera, you will have a decent few hours.

2. Hwajeong. The bus station is right near the subway station. Many destinations possible, even as far away as Sokcho/Gangwon if you set out early enough in the morning from there. There are also 2 reasonable department stores in Hwajeong itself, nice place for browsing early morning before the crowds. I think a bowling alley as well.

Thanks for the responses, but it's not exactly what I mean. I'm wondering if there's anything to do IN Ilsan. I have to travel an hour to get there, so I don't really want to take another bus to Gangwon-do.

Mr Shankly, Loko are shit!!! Razz

Lake Park, near La Festa, near Juyeop and Jongbalsan stations kicks some picnic ass. La Festa and the area have tons of places to eat and drink, there's a couple of movie theaters around.

No laser tag, though.

I was at the MBC building there, and I noticed that across the street there's a western massage place . . .

Here are a few things to do in Ilsan: There's a shooting range upstairs from Altenburg (across the street from Western Dom), there's a basement bowling alley near Juyeop, there are a couple of 'xbox bangs' around, there are some good jimjilbangs with 'dr.fish' action near Baekseok, the street games on either end of LaFesta can be fun (batting cages, bb M-16's), walking in Lake Park can get a bit crowded, but Jeongbalsan always has some quiet spots on it. You can rent a little motorcycle and drive around like a fool near McDonalds, or you can buy fireworks and shoot them off randomly. There are also a ton of movie theatres.
