Have you ever checked out http://www.jumptheshark.com/index.jspa

The site is for TV shows, but this poll is for determining when Dave's ESL Cafe jumped the Shark.

I left the poll with a few fill in the blanks so you can add your own details.

I'm not a Yank but was informed yesterday by my American friend that 'jumping the shark' is now obsolete. The correct term now is 'nuking the fridge', in reference to Indiana Jones.

Interesting point and duly noted for future polls. Sorry, I never saw the Indiana Jones movie.

I joined the international job forum long before here and, when I joined, the General discussion forum didn't contain the requirement 'Non-teaching/job-related postings will be deleted'. It was a completely anything-goes forum. It was so funny prior to that, because there were so many disgusting TEFL chumps. The worst chump was Moonraven. She was a ginormous white woman in her 40s at least who constantly jumped all over newbies for really minor things (especially young women) and basically was the most bitter, most angry, most tortured of souls. That forum served up chillingly vivid evidence of how if you take a completely normal person, put them in a TEFL job, or several TEFL jobs, for years and years, their brains and personalities become naught but worthless and contemptible slush. Since they (mods/Dave) introduced the 'Non-teaching/job-related postings will be deleted' requirement, the forum went drastically down or uphill depending on your point of view.

How do you know she was a completely normal person to begin with? Do you have proof that her alleged derangement was the direct result of becoming a TEFL slave?

Why is it any concern of yours?

Your rebuttals are not up to your usually standards. I would have thought you would at least dredge up some "scientific" paper to back up your claims that TEFL is directly proportional to derangment. Perhaps backed it up with some really simple math calculations to derive the mean.
