I have been buying jars for $4 a piece at the local Walmart here in Georgia. I couldn't believe it when I saw it in the store. It's actually good too. |

It's not just Walmart, you can find kimchee at almost every supermarket in America, it's not very good in my opinion. |

The wife and I bought Kimchi last week at a local grocery store in Iowa. It really almost exploded when we opened it (the jar warned us, and we covered it). The Kimchi tasted REALLY old and sour, despite being "fresh" until December. My wife thought it was gross.
Not a lot of Kimchi eaters here! |

Yeah, my sister is the only one who likes it here. I keep telling them they have to get use to it. Oh well...i love the stuff. Another thing I loved about Korea was the public transportation. It sucks over here. There is zero in my small city. |

I am currently in Georgia on vacation... I'll definitely be looking for kimchi the next time I am in WalMart... by the way, in which section did you find it? |

I agree. Obvious choice for best poster of the year... And if you don't come back to Korea, keep us informed about life back in the USA! Keep it real Kentucker! Glad to hear you found kimchi way out there! |

Dude, if you're in ATL, go to Gwinnett, there are numerous Korean grocery stores there with better Kimchi than they sell at Walmart. |

They have it in all the Wal-Marts I've been to in the Charlotte, NC area. frieda's brand also has the benefit of being (more or less) Kosher...i.e., without shrimp paste. |

Thay had Kimchi in the grocery store in a small town on an Indian reservation where I lived in SD. But my Korean wife said it was old and sour. She'd only buy it from Korea Town in Denver. For a non-Korean, it's close enough. I made Kimchi dogs with it (kimchi on hotdogs). |
