Hi. I'm told that American products can be had on US military bases (my two main goals right now are cheddar cheese and Durex condoms -for unrelated purposes- but there are other things too). I have a few friends at Camp Stanley, but I live about a million miles away in Suwon. If any US military folks from Osan or Yongsan would kindly escort me onto base, I would much appreciate it. I'll buy you lunch or something, whatever you want. |

I don't know which of your requests are more important, but you can find cheddar cheese in the wine section at Lotte or any other large department store.
Just thought I might let you know in case the Army base doesn't work out for you.
Good luck with the rubbers. |

Just take the subway to songson(?) 2 stops past Osan, take a cab to main gate and talk to folks going in and out usually someone will help you, especially if you're a vet. Good luck. |

^^ I doubt he'd have any problems getting on base if he was a "vet" and discharged in good standing. |

You can buy large / imported condoms at the condom chop in hongdae. cheese is easy-- Emart, Costco, or if you're stubborn, go down to SONGTAN (geesh, why even bother replying if you don't know the name of the place to begin with?) station on line one (catch a cab from the station and say 'main gate' - it's not far). If you do some exploring, you'll find a market, kind of like a korean traditional market, but a few shops there have goods from base (like cheese) at somewhat reasonable prices. Just make sure you check the expiry dates. |

You can only get on as a vet if you have certain privileges. My mom is a disabled vet and they wouldn't let her stay at the hotel on base. |

You can get really nice cheese in several varieties including cheddar, Tillamook 2lb bricks, at Costco. It will be as good as anything that you will find on the base. As for condoms, I am not sure what Costco has. |

Live and learn or do like me. Serve your country get your veteran I.D card and make friends with some active duty folk and presto: discount city. They take won but give change in dollars. F.Y.I. Once again, be friendly, it works. |

In my experience they won't take won at the comissaries, or the PX, just the shoppettes and food courts. |
