Anybody addicted to a Nexon game? Mabinogi, Kart Rider, Maple Story, Audition... There are so many.
Which is better: proxy English server or *borrow* a SS# for the Korean server?
While goofing around between real jobs in America I developed a little Mabinogi addiction (released in North America last March). I am moving to Korea next month, and am wondering how I might play there.
I am told that the NA servers of Nexon's games cannot be accessed in Korea, and in order to set up an account on the Korean servers, one must have a Korean social security number.
Nexon fans, how do you do it? |

When I first lived in Korea (2004) I signed up for Kart Rider no prob without a social security number- had to type bunch of stuff in Korean was all. I think you might need one now though.
Kart Rider was released in Europe last year- happy days, can get soted out with my daily fix until I get back to Korea^^ |

Fact: Unless you can read Korean you cannot play Maple Story, as the oceanic server is no longer accepting accounts. It sucks anyway: if you want a free MMO try Perfect World. Or a girlfriend, I can't judge. |

Mint, um, what interesting options. Thank you.
Perfect World? Are you joking? Face palm! Personally, I don't recommend it because the grind bored me to death. But that's me.
Girlfriend? That's a general comment, right? Not for me, April6, the OP? Anyways, it made me laugh. I think that's a little too much excitement for me this instant, considering I'm a heterosexual female moving to Korea in three weeks still crazy in love with my husband. An interesting thought, though.
I do like Guild Wars, Trickster and Silkroad. I assume they are accessible there? I'd prefer to give Blizzard $15 a month anyways and play WoW, it's much better than all other MMO's, excluding Mabinogi, imo.
I take lack of Nexon game threads/responses as a sign that they are hard for English speakers to access in Korea, which is a bummer, for they are awesome. I have my fingers crossed I will work out a proxy in case I have time for such things. |
