Anyone know if you can take a bus directly from Daegu up to Incheon airport?
Cheers. |

ah wait.. I'm not entirely sure if it's the northern or the eastern terminal.
http://www.gobus.co.kr/route/r_main.asp?city1=대구광역시&city2=동대구&city3=인천공항
might be a better link. Times, etc.
Departure area/ arrival area/ stops/ distance/ weekend bus
is what it says at the top of the chart.
I'm really not helping much, am I? Help me out with some more info and I'll do the same! |

yes, it can be done... go to dong-daegu ktx station and ask the info desk which direction to go for the bus station.. go there..
it's about 3 blocks from the train station and costs a little more than 30,000... it takes just under 5 hours (because it stops at a rest stop for about 20 min.s which is good cause there's no toilet on the bus)... it drops you off at the international arrival/departure gates... it couldn't be easier... although, the three blocks sucks if you're dragging a couple o big suitcases along... good luck.. |

That's great. Thanks.
I don't suppose you would know (roughly) the times and weekday frequency of the service would you? I'd need to arrive at Incheon for about 13:00ish. |

I don't know the times exactly but as I can remember it's a little strange (Although the last time I went was in January.) The buses are really frequent but theres a period right in the middle of the day when they just stop leaving.
I think that the last bus leaves at 3pm and then the service resumes at 11pm again.
I find it really strange that the buses leave all throughout the night and early morning but then stop in the afternoon. Anyway if you need to be there by 1pm you should be fine. I don't know if theres a website with the info though so you might want to check first |

artyom is right... they start super early (maybe like 5am) and leave every half hour or so until mid afternoon... however, if you're leaving that early and you're gonna try to get directions from the dong-daegu ktx info stand, they may not be open... so i'll try to explain the short trek from the train station to the bus station...
when you arrive at ktx, you wanna go across the main street there... there are escalators down and you go under the street to the other side... if you're entering the ktx station, immediately turn right and walk down to almost the end of the terminal... keep an eye out to your right as you're walking and you should spot the escalators down... take them... next, you'll come to a small park plaze to your right... it's more just like a widened pedestrian path... follow it and at the end is the bus station on your left... this is one of two bus stations... just say "incheon" and they'll point out the correct bus... if there's not one leaving from this station, they'll point you toward the other bus station (which is a couple o blocks away)... one of the two will most likely have a bus leaving any minute when you get there... i hope this is some help... i know it sounds like gibberish, but it'll make sense to you once your feet touch the ground at dong-daegu ktx station... good luck... |

Because you have to get from Sobu Terminal to Dong Daegu, you're better off (IMHO) taking the KTX to Seoul Station and getting in the Incheon Airport Express bus from there. It's more expensive, but faster and more comfortable. |

Would you recommend booking KTX tickets or are there usually plenty available? |

I've never booked KTX tickets in advance; but if you're traveling at peak times/days it's probably a good idea (if just for the peace of mind). |
