May I suggest using Blatter's head for a ball? I don't know the ins and outs of the SA case but the guy's an absolute moron. Or maybe it's me that's the moron and Cristiano Ronaldo really IS a modern-day slave(!)
Anyway, yeah bring it back to England so we can sing songs of self-delusion and enjoy those days, weeks even before we lose
disappointingly in the quarter-finals.
On a serious note though, only Germany matches England among the serious footballing nations for stadia and facilities. So one of those would seem like the sensible option to me. |

America has university stadiums that seat over 100,000 fans. No country in the world could match the U.S. for facilities. You could play the entire world cup in California and at a different stadium each match. |

Guys, the negativity!
If you don't want go to SA, then watch it on TV! And, you may want to know that although many white South Africans have indeed left SA, many have also returned because come what may, its home.
If we can't pull of the WC, then so be it, at least we tried. But don't call my country a ****hole! It's not! |

Yes, I am well aware of the stadia and facilities in the US. Please take note though- 'among the serious footballing nations'. |

Man, if you thought that was boring, you will NEVER like football! Fair enough.
The European Championships had so many great and memorable games that the only thing most fans could really complain about was the very thing that made some of the games so entertaining- the abject defending. |

I was watching through the tainted glass of an Italian guide. So I basically saw only the games italy played or effected italy then the finals. Aside from the one real nice goal I found the finals to be just oppressively boring. I've got an open mind for sports but its just not doing it for me. But if its your thing, more power to ya |

| But since Germany successfully hosted the World Cup in 2006, there have been frequent articles in foreign media wondering whether South African preparations are on track. Of course, an event of such global magnitude always attracts coverage; Germany's preparations came under similar scrutiny. But some South Africans now mutter darkly that perhaps deep "Afro-pessimism" -- within South Africa itself and in the West -- is unfairly creating perceptions of sham-bolic preparations. Sensing South African anxiety, the old "enemy down under", Australia, is rubbing it in. Many local football administrators there have "offered" to take over in the coming years if South Africa falters. |
More like WHEN they falter.
Here is the entire article.

US still holds the record for highest total attendance for a world cup and that was with only 52 total matches in 1994. if they held it here instead of sa, every match would have crowds in excess of 60,000. off the top of my head here are the stadiums that would be ready
nyc-new meadowlands stadium, 80,000+
philly, eagles stadium 65,000
dc- fed ex field, 90,000
charlotte, 75,000
tampa, 65,000
miami 75,000
dallas will have the new cowboys stadium, 75,000+
houston, 75,000+
if you wanted "smaller" venues mls have a bunch of stadiums that could be expanded to 40,000+
you think fifa wouldnt drool over the revenue from those stadiums? |
