Is it true that hagwons always charge 3.3% tax and that they don't have to contribute to pension? This is what I was told today, regardless of the fact that I have contacted both the tax office and pension office. I need some written documents outlining this, but I can't find anything. I found the tax calculator, but apparently that doesn't apply to hagwons. I've been shown information that it's 3.3% for foreigners, but it's in Korean and does me no good.
I know this has been done to death on here, and I know what people have said (1.7%, yes to pension) but I need written documents outlining this. In English.

For your taxes, contact the foreign tax advocate on their website.

For pension information contact the pension office or check the specifics on their website (South Africans for example do NOT have to pay into pension).

Both the tax and pension websites have all the information you require and are in / have English.
Both are government websites...

yes, it's the law.
You will have to go to your local pension office, file a complaint, pay YOUR portion of the unpaid pension to them and wait for them to collect the balance from your employer.
If the person at the desk tells you otherwise, move up the food chain and talk to his boss or contact them by phone.
Nothing happens until you pay your back payments. |

How long have you been there and are you working for the school or for an after school program? |
