Hi,
Thanks for the information on changing my computer to an English version of Window's Vista. Unfortunately, I'm not having the good luck that so many of you are.
I'm having a problem with EXE2CAB file. When I try to execute this file, I get a message that it has failed to convert the file. How can I fix this?
I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,
Hoss |

Try re-downloading the language package file; it may be corrupt. Un-install and re-install vistalizator as well.
I'm sure you read through the site, but just in case, maybe this helps?

OK. I've installed it now. Took a while, but my laptop now speaks English. Fantastic.
Do you think I can install it in my students? |
If you have any success with that please share! |
Well it worked on The Matrix, so... |

Not to my knowledge. It's probably easier to do a reinstall. |

Going to Bump this as I did and tried it.
Its great! Makes using my GF laptop ten times easier and I can now figure out simple problems that really confounded me before hand.
My advice is go a little slow and read the documentation and the help first before jumping in and installing it
Good Luck to All

AMAZING!
Just wish I'd found it when I first bought my PC (over a year ago!)
Thanks! |

Funny how they will sticky a "how to post images" thread - when you can't post images - yet leave something this helpful to drift into oblivion.
We need a tech mod. |

Going to Bump again. But this time add a tip.
I was having trouble updating windows including the new service pack 2. You should change your system back to Korean or original language and then update then change back.
Good Luck |

in regard to my earlier question about changing korean xp to english I saw this one day on this board:
I guess most people sitting here reading daves during school time have a Korean laptop or pc with a Korean language version of XP. Until now the only real option was to install an English version of XP. However after a bit of snooping around the internet I found a pretty good solution. Apologies if this has been posted before.
The solution needs a modicum of PC ability, but really it's extremely simple.
First you must Start menu > Run > Regedit
Next navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Language
While in that directory you must edit the values of Default andInstallLanguage
Change both of them to just one of these numbers: 0409 = "en-us;English (United States)" or 0809 = "en-gb;English (United Kingdom)" The default for Korean is 0412.
Download SP3 in English from http://www.Microsoft.Com/downloads/details.Aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08
Restart your pc, install the update, restart the pc once more and voila your Korean language version of XP is now in English. Some Korean still remains via file names and applications, but everything to do with XP is now in English.
One tip, if your Korean version is already SP3 you must uninstall it. Check which version you have by entering winver in run.
Here is the link to the article.

I have not tried it yet so would someone please try it and let us know how it goes? |

I tried the method described in my post above on a Korean xp os.
the instructions say to uninstall sp3 first then do the instructions then reinstall sp3.
I cannot find a way to uninstall sp3 on this computer.
system restore is turned off and there is no mention of sp3 in the add/remove programs list. |
