The price for modernity. The OP wouldn't be here in the first place if Korea didn't want to turn into an advanced economy. Hopefully, the most scenic parts of Korea will be turned into a park or something.

Good luck man, you sound like you know what's what.

As for Korea, sort of ironic that Yeosu is hosting Expo 2012 on the theme of preserving the oceans, and of Korea being a world leader in this regard.

I don't see what is so positive about this post. Korea has gone from natural paradise to eco-hell in four years? Come off it. There hasn't been that much change, some changes are positive, and it wasn't paradise four years ago.

God, don't get me started on Yeosu. This city's 'green credentials' are a joke. From where I live I can see them butchering more of the hillsides everyday. Green my arse.

Nice post anyway OP. Good luck with everything in the future. (By the way, if it's a Korean woman you're marrying doesn't that mean you have the chance to work here again in the future without any hassles about your past convictions?)

As Mister Azzwell's self-appointed spokesman, I can confirm that the lady he is to marry is most definitely NOT Korean.
