my hagwons got me teaching about 4 lessons a week for a month for a show that the parents will watch in sept. its kindy, so any ideas- like a pop song, or kids movie script- easy stuff like, though of thriller, but too much effort, btw pink floyd id out of the question.

At my first hagwon a few years back (the only year I taught kindy) I did the billy goats gruff. I got to play the Troll. The kids were funny and the parents enjoyed it, though I'm sure they didn't understand much.

Wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round. You get the picture.

That's what I would do. That or Old Mac Donald.

Keep the kids busy and make sure they're having fun. Use props and such. It adds to the excitement for the kids, yet takes the piss out of your day.

I'm so glad I don't teach Kindergarden anymore.

"Red and yellow and pink and blue, orange and purple and green..I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too" The Rainbow Song! Good for colors.

I did a variety show with the kids a few years ago, there were songs like the rainbow song and a few funny sketches. If there are any cute gimmicks on the tv, celebrities catchphrases, gestures from Korean dramas etc. they usually go down a treat. When the kids act they are as cardboard as cardboard, songs are lively and romantic themes get a lot of 'ohs' and 'ahs' from the parents.

Remember that the parents can be fiercely competitive, so if you're choosing a play try and have ALL the kids get equal attention. You can't have Jimmy Kim playing the part of a mushroom in a corner, you'll have all his living relatives and the souls of his ancestors after you.

Kindy goes crazy over Miss Mary Mack. They love singing that song and acting it out. Organize activities such as to sing, read, discuss, rehearse, and to make the props such as a large elephant and characters on a cardboard prop and let them rehearse it by having fun with it. It's not expected to be perfect, but whatever you have them do, they do they have to be having fun or it's in vain. It's great to have the books with pictures and words that they can have their eyes and hands on. It's important to have a copy of the song too as there's lots of sound effects they just love to hear. I did this last year my kindy class as a skit/play performance and it went very well as they found it lots of fun. I ended up being the big elephant they danced and ran around.lol

I had them reading the song lyrics out loud, singing it, dancing, acting, and understanding all the vocabulary well enough to like it lots. Miss Mary Mack was way funner than all the others and they just couldn't wait to get in there and sing that song each morning. We spent a month on each of these story/song books and this one is epic.

"where the wild things are--the musical."
it'd be epic. All the kids could dress like monsters and there aren't really very many lines.

Hey, I made a bunch of little midi-pages a few years ago. Some are tinny-sounding midis, some full blown wavs and maybe an mp3 even. If the music doesn't play, try opening in IE. The players weren't all updated for FF browsers. These were made pre-YouTube days that came along to steal the midi-magic thunder.

Feel free to browse around and pick one you might feel is appropriate.

pretty ones:

(really, I have aboot 100 of them)
