Hey ... how many 'contractual hours' are needed to be classified as full time
and thus be legally entitled to the full extent of the labor standards act in Korea? |

I know that some university workers are contracted to only 6 hours a week. These people are employed as full time teachers.
If your boss is using the "your not full time so Korean Labor Laws don't cover you" trick, I'd say he's talking out his/her a#s*. |

well. the issue has to do with the 10days paid vacation.
in contract it says we get 10 days vacation with 300$ bonus.
but. the 10days are not included in our session.
we get paid by session.
so technically we get NO pay for those days.
so we are technically not getting 10 days paid vacation.
I think that if this is in fact illegal and I choose to do something with this then in the end they would have to give us employees the bonus plus the 10 days pay. which I think is based on an average monthly fee.
also they do not include red days in the session. so these are also not counted as paid. so I think there is an issue with that as well that needs to be looked at.
Any thoughts? |

I am contracted as 130 hours.
the labour law says 'contractual hours' not hours worked.
so I am assuming my status as full time is based on that.
I really only teach about 14 hours a week currently. which will change a bit over my contract. |

I only did a quick glance, so I could have missed it.
But I could not find something that clearly stated the difference between fixedterm/fulltime and part time.
I am contracted as 130 hours. which is over 80, the previously stated minimum.
Does someone have a reference to this? |

in my experience, contracts and laws mean nothing, so I'm not sure why you're spending so much time on this. |
