I am not sure how the visa rules work. This girl works as part of some after school program where she is contracted out by a private company. The program is being terminated. She may have to return home on her own coin, but she would rather try to switch jobs. Is it possible. She has been working in Korea, officially since February 28th. Any ideas?

Thanks....

Get a release and go to immigration. They are the ONLY ones who can answer her question. Each case is adjudicated on its own merits.

I suspect that if she can find a contract to run consecutively following the termination of this one that she should be able to "add/change" her place of employment.

Since she got started AFTER the new regs came into place (CRC and medical on file at immigration) that she would be able to do a simple visa run if she doesn't find a consecutive position and needs this option.

My assistant speaks with Immigration all the time. When I asked him to pose this question, the response was: to switch a visa over to another company, you need to have completed 9 months of your contract. That said, your friend is able to do a visa run to Japan. And, if what I have read from the immigration web site is correct, your friend will not have to resubmit the criminal check.

She will only have around 6 months of her contract done, but she has done the tests.
