|
|
I know it is very easy to buy 160GB (USB) external hard drives for approximately 165,000won in Seoul...
but I am looking for external hard drives that are bigger (300GB, 400GB)
where can I find them in Seoul - and what are the prices of them?
Is it easier to have them made - or just purchased from somewhere? |

- the big gigabyte sign that you can see from Yongsan station.
Go in the left door, walk down the hall and make a right at the end. It will be the 1st or 2nd store on your right hand side.
320 gig, 2.5", external HDDs, 153k won last weekend. Fits in your pocket.
3.5" 700 gig, external HDD, 140k.

The 2.5' drives, yes, just the same as a flash drive.
The 3.5" drives need a wall plug for power.

Great - thanks for your help - thats a lot of info (maps etc)
I will definately purchase the 700GB - and I like it having the power plug in the wall (not computer) - as usually the smaller HD's take up 2 USB slots instead of one...
Just one more question - I live closer to TechnoMart - do you think Technomart also sells them? |

I must be a big idiot - I have bought 5 160GB external (USB) drives over the last 2 years - each costing 165,000won from Homeplus, Hi-Mart and Technomart...
now I have just discovered I could buy a 700GB external HDD for 140,000won...
I am not happy... |

3.5 or 2.5? Prices have been steadily coming down. 3-5 yrs ago that was the price. |

I don't know - I don't know how to measure them -
Mine are 0.75 inches thick x 3inches wide x 5 inches length
or
1.75cm thick x 8.75cm wide x 13cm length
but after I go to Yongsan and buy a couple of 700GB drives - I will have 5 x 160GB drives to throw in the trash...
I would much prefer a 700GB external HD that plugs into the wall for power - it will give me a couple of USB sockets free
(The 160GB drives take up 2 USB sockets - one for USB one for power) |

Why not just get a 1tb external...around the 200,000 mark now and dropping steadily..
Good luck w/ those 3.5 160g's....if they were 2.5's you'd have no problem selling but I don't think many will be interested in 3.5 160g's unless ur gonna let them go for dirt cheap. |

www.sarotech.com
Korean brand. Just bought a 160gig for 125,000. They have larger sizes too.
Saw a fair number of them in Costco. Don't remember the brand name. |
