vista is more secure and demanding. if you're buying a new system get 2 gigs of ram with vista (home premium)

XP 4 eeevvvaaaa.
At least until there's a compelling reason to *ahem* upgrade. Probably skipping this generation of OS completely. Microsoft keep making noise about Windows 7. If that brings DX 10 support without the performance hit, then I'll be thinking about it.

No reason for me to upgrade yet. I don't play games.

I did drop $100 on a legal copy of 2007 Home/Student Office this week, though. Seemed like a good price.
