I don't know the reasons Korea currently hates, and has done even before the Bush administration, America so much. If you do then let me know. |

But he's been your head of state for over seven years now and was elected not once, but two times. |
He didn't win the popular vote the first time, and he just squeaked by the next largely as a result of a well-orchestrated smear campaign that included plenty of lies about the other candidate.
These are facts, but if you wanna paint all Americans with the same brush, then go for it. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the 320 million Americans won't give a shit what you think. |
Yeah, that and the fact that you had the most spectacular terrorist attack in the history of mankind. America is not like England or Korea. Mississipi is not the same as California. Alaska is not the same as New York. And more Americans live in California and New York. If I could magically divorce the south from our country I would do it in a heartbeat.
Bottom line, Bush has the lowest approval ratings in the history of approval ratings. If we can survive Bush, well, God I can't imagine a president who could possibly be any worse. |

It's either the Americans, Japanese, English teachers, muslims, Chinese, sometimes the North Koreans, migrant workers, ect...ect...
Now that the Mad Beef madness has subsided (for now), and the attention is focused on the Japanese over Dokdo (after a small hate fest on North Korea), who do you think the Koreans will hate on next? |
The Jews. They've done everything else to death here, high time they got round to the rest of the world's favourite whipping boys. |
LOL. You spoke too soon. |
Yeah, I am aware of Rhie won bak and his whacky anti-Semite theories. There is a reason why I won't allow my students to bring his books into the classroom. |

Maybe we should start with you. What can we do to fix your ouchie? Can we buy you a pony to make it all better?
Or maybe we should just tell you to screw off until you grow out of the 'ferocious hatred' phase which you have alleged you share with every human on the planet who's not an American.
Bushie isn't America. Did you get that memo, asswipe? |
'Asswipe', oooh touchy! Why do you all get so defensive?
Bush isnt America I know and the actions of certain powerful people shouldnt sour the view of the people, because I am the first to admit that that is an ignorant view. But in my opinion that is what happens. So, where public displays of hatred towards America are concerned Im afraid that Bush and co often actually are America!
But thats the way it works Im afraid, especially when youre currently sitting in a position of immense power.
I definitely did not say I share that ferocious hatred!
Of course America is more than a couple of lunatics with their finger on the button, but everyone here seems specifically incensed about Koreas dislike towards America. When if you look out beyond Korea its clearly a common attitude, so why single Koreans out here?
I work in an international school and I hear anti-American vitriol over and over again. And much the same as any other prejudice it is born out of ignorance.
Its a shame you get to undeservedly bear some of the brunt, but Im saying its a widespread attitude!
My own advice (for what is worth) is chill out a bit, one problem I do have with Americans is some can be excessively patriotic and get easily riled when something like this happens. |

No doubt the Olympics are going to provide a huge opportunity for Korea to be slighted by China. Doesn't China remember it used to be Korea's big brother? And now it's expecting Korea to be a big boy? |

I have a question about America hating. Do people hate all Americans? When people refer to Americans, are they only referring to whites? Just curious because last time I checked only 66% of Americans are classified as white. Even that number is misleading because that includes people from the middle east, north Africa, etc. So, when Koreans or whoever else hates America, do they hate Korean Americans, Chinese Americans, African Americans, Mexican Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, etc, or only European Americans? I think people who hate have in their minds this image of big, fat, disgusting uneducated white people eating Big Macs, driving gas guzzling SUVs with George W stickers who all shop at WalMart, have missing teeth, and support bombing other countries. Well, those people certainly do exist, but what about the other groups mentioned above? It seems like people sure do cast a wide net when hating the most diverse country that has ever existed. |

Yes I think that most people do refer to the white stereotype of America mentioned when thay are saying those things.
Maybe because they are and have been the status quo for so long? Also the media influence has to be considered as a lot of people will see, for example, Joey from Friends and think that is what most Americans are like
It is indeed a wide net. Again though, its not about the real people but about the 'powers that be', and the real people take the flack. I |

I'd say that people don't hate Americans at all. Hate is a pretty strong word. The anger is directed at America as a country, American foreign policy, or the American government. |

Koreans may dislike us under their breath, but they put their need to learn English first. |
If there's a bunch of protests about that, I will do a midnight run. Cut my nose off to spite my face, oh yeah! |

Bahahahahahaha. It's becoming like that Steve Martin movie The Jerk. "He hates these cans!"
A friend noted the civil rights protest in the USA never had a cartoon mascot (candle girl) or an official line dance. And yet Korea... |

This country is so f-ud up.
I swear to god they are almost suicidal. The actions over the past few months explain perfectly why this nation went to war with one another 60 years back.
They have an irrational death wish.
But the chicks are soooo hot |
