|
|
Just got my fingerprints done to send in for my Criminal Record Check. However, the police officer refused to use the English fingerprint form this time. Instead, he used the Korean language form, and scribbled English translations all over the sheet.
Has anybody ever applied for a Canadian Criminal Record Check, using a Korean language form? Is it acceptable? Would like to find out as soon as possible -- I want to mail this off next week, and would like to know if I have to get printed again at a different office or not.
Thanks. |

Hi,
Just got my CRC from Canada last week - took about 8 weeks. I had sent the Korean form only - they did it fine. My friend did the same Korean form but got theirs back 2 weeks earlier than my CRC. We did include a cover letter and requested a Vulnerable Sector Search. However, on my form it says nothing about the VSS.
I have heard that the Canadian Embassy in Seoul (where you swear you are you) has said the VSS is not required by Korean Immigration in Korea - however some Korean Embassies in Canada insist upon it.
I will find out when I return from holidays at the end of August.
Should work fine - just make sure that the Officer's name is in Roman script with telephone number if the RCMP want to call Korea.
Good luck/. |

I've done it twice. Neither time did I have an English form; they were both Korean forms with English translations written onto it. RCMP didn't have a problem with either of them. |
