I've looked around on here and haven;t been able to find much discussion about this.

I am curious what peoples experiences have been with the hourly programmes offered by schools like CDI. Also the differences between school given apartments and the ones they help you find with the hourly package.

Any experiences of CDI would also be helpful.

My days are running out and I need to choose a school but there are so many unknowns.

Whichever you end up choosing, hourly or salary, make sure you are not registered as an independant contractor. As an IC, you are screwed out of medical, pension, and severance, plus you pay a higher rate of tax. Hourly or salary, you are an employee. Insist on it, or refuse to sign.

Are you sure you "looked around?" There was a thread about the same topic within the last week. And if you use the search function above and type "CDI" you'll get all the answers you need.

Hey there,
I'm actually the one who posted the same question a few weeks ago. You could look at my recent posts to find it, but I didn't really get much useful help from people who've worked at CDI.

I'm signing on there--I figure there are good and bad experiences with every school and this is a good way for me to get started. I work 55 hour work weeks now, make 1500 a month and go to class full time, so I think I'll be able to handle the "long days" that most people complain about.

Anyway, I just ended up sending back my statement accepting the monthly salary. If you look at my last post, you can see the way I worked the math out--the amount of money ends up being about the same, once you factor in the benefits of the monthly vs the costs of the hourly. If you have any questions about how I came to my answer, feel free to PM me or Email me ([email protected])
Jill
