Last night I saw something that made me remember how much I don't like Itaewon.

The only reason I went there was because it was my birthday and I wanted to drink a few Non Korean Beers. So I went to Wolfhound and met my friend there.

We were standing by the pool table. A bunch of guys were in the middle of a game. Right in front of my friend and I this man was instigating another guy, a lot younger, who was getting quite annoyed.

The man who was instigating him said something pretty crude and vulgar to the other guy. Other guy told him to STFU or something like that. Right in front of us, the instigator dude SPITS right into the other guys eyes. The wind from him spitting out of his mouth made the guys hair fly back and he wretchedly closed his eyes.

Right there he retaliated and just lifted up his fist, not even remotely enough to hurt someone, but he landed his fist, more like pounded it right into the side of the guys head and he just went flying sideways down to the ground. His punch seemed so harmless but he packed a hell of a force into it, sent the guy onto his ass sideways about 8 feet away.

The guy is on the ground then his friend jumps in and pushed him back into a table, glasses hitting the floor, a bunch of guys jumping in to break it up. I felt bad for the guy. You don't spit in someone's face like that. Hitting him back is the wrong thing to do, but you don't spit in someone's face.

It was amazing. Regardless, no more Itaewon for me. I said that a while ago, haven't been back there since last night, now I'm pretty dead set on not going into that dump again. Too much aggression for me.

wow! sounds like you are serious.

...have you really not been back there since last night?

...and BTW, there seems to be a 13 hour gap in your postings of 2 days ago... exactly what did you do during that time? were you in Itaewon ?

also, can you give more details about the beer? finding non-korean beer in Korea is rather taxing...

... it involves a trip to the corner store.

You are correct. Kicking his leg out from under him and then stomping his ass on the ground would be more appropriate.

Spitting in someone's face is just as bad as punching them.

It's no contest actually, spitting in someone's face is much worse. What is the world coming to when men are spitting in other men's faces? Someone should do their dissertation on this. Thanks, Oprah.

Yeah, I can't stand Itaewon, either. It's probably one of the only areas here where I haven't felt safe. And some of the drunk teachers are just as crazy and unpredictable as the soldiers.

In the daytime, it's not too bad. They have some nice restaurants.

Happy belated birthday.

I can take an awful lot of stupidity, but spitting in the face is grounds for a beating, come what may.

I'm with you, brother.

Where I'm from, a man spits in your face, he's just asking for a country-sized ass whuppin'.

And if word gets back to Mama that you didn't put a couple of popknots on that feller's head for spitting in your face, then your ass is whupped next time she sees you. Guarandamnteed. (Y'all write that word down, now. That there's an infix. Rare critter in English.)

Actually, you know, I'm sure that in reality you were once a really friendly person. But you have acquired a constant hard on with being a smart ass on here.

Really, life is too short for you to be such a wanker on here. Wherever you're from, I'm sure people either A. wonder whatever happened to you, or B. have forgotten about you, which has led you to be bitter to complete strangers on an Internet chat room. Really, quite honestly, it's pathetic. It's not too late for you to go back towards the light again. Join the force Knee Highs.

I've seen a few bar fights. I've seen a guy get clobbered in the head with a thick, glass beer mug.

But I've never seen a guy spit in another's face. That takes drunken stupidity to a new level.

I've seen a lot of bar fights here, as well as fights on the streets. All have been between Koreans and none have been in Itaewon. I don't understand why Itaewon would be an exception. However, I am with you- seeing fights usually sucks. I'm not into it- gives me a dark feeling.

And Knee-hi's your sarcasm is totally unnecessary. You must be a very unhappy person.

My favorite thing about Korean fights is that they stay in haeyochae or imnida whilst talking trash.
