Keiko's Last Smile, a recently formed rock band in Anyang, is seeking a bass player and (possibly) singer. Our bass player has just gone back to Canada, and will be there for several months. Currently, one member (me) is pulling double-duty as singer and guitarist, so we're considering trying out a singer so I don't have to work so hard.

We play catchy hard rock songs about video games, science fiction, and horror movies. If you are a singer and you write your own songs, we'd love to have your creative input, but songs must (usually) conform to our themes (though we're liberal in our interpretation). We have plenty of our own material, though, if you just wanna sing our songs.

We are also interested in playing with other musicians (lead guitar or keyboard, especially).

To get an idea of our sound, check out http://www.myspace.com/keikoslastsmilekorea

If you're interested, email [email protected]

Are you the two dudes who played that Eye of the Tiger cover at Psycho with your guitar detuned like 5 steps?

If so, not a bad first show. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just gotta lose that squealy distortion pedal, though, as it felt like shards of glass plunged into eyeballs.

That was us, indeed Smile

I actually was pretty nervous, (especially with the fairly big crowd) so I got a little too drunk. A little too drunk to figure out what was wrong with my mic and my distortion pedal, and a little too drunk to play guitar very correctly.

We stopped by Club Psycho last Thursday and played our set again, and just messed around for a little while. It went much better. Thanks for your kind words.

By the way, we tune down two full steps, to C. It started as an experiment, and I decided that I really like it.

Are you playing in open-C, or standard-tuning tuned down to C?

Still looking for musicians, by the way, and we're getting much better at what we do. We're still not good mind, but we're better Smile

We found an interim bass player, but we'd still love to meet a lead guitarist, keyboardist, or digeridoo/theremin/whatever player.

The instrumental songs Don't Wanna Be King and Double Plus Ungood are really good. Who's the Korean woman with the axe?

Those are the instrumental versions of the songs, because we wanted to put good recordings up, and haven't yet recorded decent vocals Smile

She's from the movie Battle Royale, which is where we got our name.
