Anyone have any advice on travelling from Seoul to Jeju with motorcycles? Maybe a one-day ride to Mokpo, get the ferry the following morning..

Is Mokpo the best port for departure to Jeju? How much do tickets cost for bike & passenger?

If you've done a similar trip, please post your experiences/advice!

Thanks.

I'd done Seoul to Mokpo, but never taken the bike on a boat.

How was the trip down there? Did it take you long?

We took our bike from Mokpo to Jeju about 3 years ago...I honestly don't remember what it cost. I want to say it was like 80000 for 2 of us and the bike one way, it's only a 4 hour ride so there is no need to book any special seats.....that figure could be totally wrong, but I do remember that it wasn't expensive.....and I can guarantee you that the best way to see Jeju is on a bike, although Jeju certainly doesn't live up to being the "Hawaii of Korea" riding a bike around the island is awesome.

You just buy the tickets right at the boat, it isn't something that you can book.

I rode from Seoul to Cheongju in 3 hours, then made it from Cheongju through Mokpo about 1 hour east of Mokpo in about 8 hours. The ride is nothing great on that part. The South Sea islands were the best part of it all. I wanted to cruise Jindo but didn't have the time.

It's the high season and difficult to get tickets on short notice.

The number for the Seaworld ferry leaving from Mokpo is 061-243-1927
They don't speak English very well, though.
There are two ferries. One leaves n the morning around 9 (but you have to be there by Cool, and one at 3:30pm.

You can also leave from Wando, but you can't (well, at least I couldn't) reserve tickets in advance.

I just reserved tickets for friends a couple days ago....
