The best- The Clash- their first Album has all their great punk/Reggae
hits like Police and thieves White Riot.
Most Underratted- Anything by The Stranglers
The Worse- Elton John- Madman Across the Water- Very difficult to listen to . Absolute rubbish frisbie material. Lots of ballads about his gay lovers. Dreadful junk. I don't care how much money he's raised for Aids
Moving Pictures by Rush was utter garbage.
Most overratted- The Dark side of the Moon by Pink Floyd- Pretentious crap. |

You should watch the making of it. Probably won't change your opinion of it if you think it's 'pretentious crap', but it gives a really good commentary on how they recorded it.
Not the best, but off the top of my head; a couple of my favourites of the last few years.

The Damned were better before they got that Goth sound.
New Rose was awesome. |

Best (lately). Def Leppard, Songs from the Sparkle Lounge (new, just out).
Comically worst and yet best ( from the 80's, you've never heard of them probably) Joy Division (80's synth pop but they have a couple of EXC songs. The rest/tail end of the album sounds like a bunch of stray hounds and they know it). |

I still listen to Joy Division at times. Now New Order was synth-pop garbage.
The movie was ok for what it was. Better than Sid and Nancy. |

Kind of hard to say what the 'best' album I ever bought was; a lot of the stuff I bought when I was a kid gave me massive joy and was soundtrack to really great times, but when I listen to some of that stuff now I don't really like it much anymore except for the sentimental attachments.
But...I probably never enjoyed an album as much as I did the Dayglo Abortions 'Feed us a Foetus' back in 1985 or so. Pure gold, for a 13 year old...still has its charms, too.
The Pixies 'Surfer Rosa' was pretty damn good too, for a while.
Worst album...hmmm. I don't really remember exactly but I suspect it was probably one of those horrible Pink Floyd ones from the post-'Wall' period. What was it? Oh yeah--'A delicate sound of thunder.' Bleeeeeagh! What a pungent wreck that was. |

Dream Warriors: My definition of a boombastic jazz style.
Bought it after watching an MTV promo for it, touting it as the greatest CD of the year. They played about 10 seconds of one song that actually sounded cool. The rest of the album, other than that 10 seconds, was garbage. |
