Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place for this.

I've been asked by my boss to help hire my replacement for September. I've loved my job, and would like to help him out. (Additionally, I'll be coming back to the same job in December and would like to find a co-worker who doesn't suck).

I don't want to turn this into an advertisement or anything, but I'm wondering what avenues you lovely people have taken to find potentials.

I have a general distrust for recruiters, and would like to find this person myself and feel them out via email and phone conversations.

I've been hounding my friends at home, but they're all too comfortable in their shells to try something like this out.

Any thoughts?

Post a job ad on Dave's Cafe "Korean Job Board".

Do people ever discuss potential jobs on here, or is that considered taboo because of the potential profit lost from job ads?

I'll write up an ad and see if my boss will spring for it.
Thanks

This is a way for everyone who is looking for a job to read your post, not just a few. With a billion gajillion threads at this site maybe 99% of the people who visit this site will NOT read your post. However, if it is on the job board 100% of those looking for a job will see your post.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I wasn't really trying to advertise with this, but just get ideas for where to look. I realize this site probably makes most of its money from advertisements.

Thanks again. Smile
