I'm will arrive in Korea one month to the day and I still have not received my contract. I need to book my flight and get my visa but I can't do that without my contract. I'm going to be working for EPIK. Is anyone else in this situation? I'm getting slightly nervous.

As long as you have everything else you need to apply for a visa, don't start to worry just yet. You should get the contract soon (hopefully).

Did you apply directly to EPIK or through a recruiter? What have they told you?

You will find is that almost everything in Korea is left until the last minute. It's pervasive and chronic! Laughing

Be prepared to shell out big bucks for a one-way airfare because Aug. is 'high season' and you'll be purchasing it only a week or so in advance (if you can get a seat... I don't know what route). One good thing - you will have no problems being reimbursed because it is government.

I do have a recruiter and last week he told me that my contract was on the way, and that he would email me the fex-ex tracking number. I emailed him yesterday and now he says he's not sure what's going on and that he would give me the tracking number tomorrow. wtf.

But I do have all of my documents together to get my visa. And EPIK just increased the flight budget to $1300 so I think I should be OK.
