Laughing

that's really funny...there are public holidays that fall on a weekend. most people can't even get their own desired vacation days, let alone try to be compensated for public holidays that do not occur during the workweek. to use your own words, you're going to have to suck it up. no offense intended with this post. i just can't stop laughing.

Yup... plynx is right - suck it up!

2009 is a terrible year for statutory holidays for those of us who work Monday - Friday... half of them fall on a weekend. Evil or Very Mad

If it makes you feell any better, most Koreans consider every Sunday to be a 'holiday'. Rolling Eyes

2007 was also a horrible year for holidays. This year worked out alright with several 3 day weekends (tho they stole one from us there on July 17th). You would think with only a 2/7 chance of a holiday landing on a Sat/Sun, the odds would be in our favour. But, if my memory serves me correctly, Lunar New Year has fallen on a weekend 2/3 last years and will be on Monday next year (negating the third day). And I wasn't even here for this year's long one! Mad

I guess it beats my first year here when xmas and NY were on the weekends so we didn't even get any time off for either. Or last year when my Korean bosses made the FTs work 10 hour days until 9pm while they left for an xmas party with all the KTs on Dec 24th . Nice people, they were.
