|

A friend of mine is interested in getting a public school job in October is that possible? I know usually people get jobs in March and September. Another friend got a job in April (i.e after March). What channels can one go through to say find a job in the Ilsan or Goyang area. Do you just contact the GEPIK people? I e-mailed Wenise Kim and Bain. I am waiting for a reply from Bain. Wenise Kim is out of town, but said in a message she is answering her e-mails intermittently. |

Wow.
GEPIK hires teachers mid-year in March?
I didn't know that.
I thought it was only at the beginning of the school year (Aug/Sep).
If I would have known that I would've started in March 09 instead of September 08.
I guess it's not too late, huh?

There is always the possibility now that the new regulations are in full swing. GEPIK is having somewhat of a hard time filling all of the current positions, and the normal rate of runners, etc. makes it likely that something will be available. I am not a recruiter, and don't want to be, but if I know of something, I try to simply make introductions. So send me a PM and I can give you my contact information for when your friend is planning to come and I can make some inquiries. That's all I can tell you. Good luck. |

I got a GEPIK job in October, but it was because the previous FT did a runner. Not many public school jobs come up 4 to 8 weeks after the semester begins.
Regarding Dain Bae, I'd suggest calling her rather than email. Email is easily ignored. |

It's very possible. Check park English but these schools are in northern gyeonggi do (where I currently work). Some happy teachers, some very UNHAPPY teachers. These schools have a hard time getting teachers so they look year round. |

Avoid GEPIK. Do a search on this site regarding complaints about that program. They operate little differently from hogwans (in terms of ripping you off at every turn and ignoring the spirit and letter of contracts). Wenise Kim, the person we are supposed to turn to for clarification when problems arise, is less than useless.
Look elsewhere. |
