|

Just wondering if certain types of University degrees are required (Honours, BA) or if most types of degrees are acceptable... I just ask because I have a 3 year Bachelor of Computing degree and I'm thinking about heading over to Korea to teach english. |

A three year degree from a Canadian university? A BA can be done in three years without taking summers off and taking full course loads every semester.
So is it a 4 year degree that you did in 3 years?
If that's the case then you should be able to meet the Visa qualifications. BA, Honours, BSc, Masters, PhD...doesn't matter as along as you've got your BA or BSc in a 4 year program.

What I asked is not really in the FAQ, there are hints that it might be kinda difficult for me (the British 3 year thread), but there is nothing outright on what I'm asking... Is an honours degree required? |

You don't need an honours degree to qualify for the Visa. You may be able to get a slightly better deal for yourself if you shop around and do your research of every job you are offered.

the actual program of the degree doesnt matter for finding a job here. i work with business majors, economics majors and even a mining development major. ive met all kinds of teachers here whose degrees couldnt be more unrelated to english and teaching. i have an english degree, but that doesnt mean that a comp. sci major couldn't teach better than me. |

It might also be a good idea to check out the "English Majors- Better Qualified For ESL Teaching?" thread in the Job-Related Forum, p. 2. Lots of info there along the lines of your inquiry. |

How many credits is your degree?
'Years' is too vague. Immigration will need to know more about the number of credits it took to acquire your 'degree.' |
