I am heading to Tokyo for a much needed break teaching A, B, C's and am looking for a little advice on getting into the city from Narita Airport. I have looked into a number of the options, but they all seem pretty expensive (30,000 won for a train in).

I was wondering if anyone has done it yet? Are there cheaper options? The main train line costs 2,940 yen, but there is some small writing under that it which says there is a rapid train that takes 30 minutes longer but costs 1,280 yen instead. Is this easily accessable?

Any insight into navigating myself fromt he airport into the city would be much appreciated. I am looking to save money at the cost of a little longer trip in.

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

There is a bus from Narita airport to many points in the city (eg. Shinjuku). I can't remember the price, but it wasn't too extreme. It took like 90 minutes though. It is not hard to find, just follow the signs.

1000 yen to Ueno Station, from there you can catch the JR circle line or the subway. There are subway connections before Ueno as well, I went to Oshiage and took the subway from there.
