Where else but the UK?
Quote:

Photographing thugs 'is assault', police tell householder snapping proof of anti-social behaviour

A householder who took photographs of hooded teenagers as evidence of their anti-social behaviour says he was told he was breaking the law after they called the police.

David Green, 64, and his neighbours had been plagued by the youths from a nearby comprehensive school for months, and was advised by their headmaster to identify them so action could be taken.

One of Mr Green's pictures shows two hooded teenagers, one making an obscene gesture towards the camera

But when Mr Green left his 1million London flat to take photographs of the gang, who were aged around 17, he said one threatened to kill him while another called the police on his mobile.

And he claimed that a Police Community Support Officer sent to the scene promptly issued a warning that taking pictures of youths without permission was illegal, and could lead to a charge of assault.

Last night Mr Green, a television cameraman, said he was appalled that the legal system's first priority seemed not to be stopping frightening anti-social behaviour by aggressive youths, but protecting them from being photographed by the concerned public.

Mr Green, a father-of-two, lives with his programme-maker wife Judy in a penthouse flat close to Waterloo station.

He said: 'We've had problems with this group shouting abuse and throwing stones for months, and were asked to identify them.

'When I went to take photographs of eight of them throwing cans of Coke around, six of them ran away, one threatened to kill me, and another one started phoning the police.

'A couple of hours later, a Police Community Support Officer told me I had been accused of assault, though no such thing occurred, and told me I was not allowed to take photographs of teenagers on the street.

'I think it's wrong that when teenagers are running riot and the police are called, it's about me, and I'm treated like a criminal.

The state has several thousand cameras in every major city in the UK. The state literally watches every single thing you do in public. But a private citizen...

Orwell must be flipping in his grave daily now.

Yeah, the more I read about the UK, the less I'm interested in going there. The culture sounds like it's turning into a world for absolute nutters. Oh well, they'll be owned by Moslems in 60 years, anyway.

Why can't you British have more normal stories, like stuff we have in the USA?:

Weird. Just weird.

The strange stuff in the US is often sexual. And the strange stuff in the UK is Orwellian.

I feel bad for the son who had the misfortune of finding those videos of his 54 year old mother. That's the kind of thing that might make you never want to have sex again.

My nephew just landed this week for a year, bless his heart (and open his eyes, he's 20).

SEASTORY ADVISORY: Scroll on past if you don't like my tales...

Way back when some of you were still in nappies, some not even born yet... zero sum years, I had the pleasure of flying into a London airport from Madrid. I don't remember who was on the plane, but what struck me immediately was the LINE to get thru Customs. It was at least a quarter mile long. And the people in line were probably 99% Mideastern, Indian, and Asian. Actually, there were two lines. That one and one roped off alongside it for UK residents.

Well, being one of the few white girls around, Rubia here attaches herself to a group heading that way (making a mental excuse that I didn't see the signs), wondering where is this Customs counter. It was quite a long walk, and soon became apparent that London had more-than-they-could-handle Immigrants coming in. Had to be in the hundreds, and their line didn't appear to be moving.

Sure 'nuf, getting to the head of the line was easy, and didn't take 3 days as I suspected the other was taking. And presenting my US passport was no problem for the agents who didn't seem to care much or even realize I was in the wrong line--All Other Countries.

I remember this vividly because of how long the other line was and that they were sleeping on suitcases and COOKING on sterno! Bless their hearts (and minds) for bring supplies. Now I realize that camped out on luggage at the airport can happen to anyone, but it never fails to remind me of immigration issues anytime I hear of the UK 'being owned by Moslems'.

Someday I'll tell you about the Iranians in Paris. Wink <if you enjoy street food, they make the best crepes there.

Ok about the doggy sex. That's worse than weird. Typical Faux News tabloid press.

But I'd like to see these statutes charging them with "felony crimes against nature". That could have some wide ranging scope and this is the first I've ever heard of such 'nature' law.

Spaying or neutering a pet does not stop their sex drive. That, believe it or not, is in their head, not down there. They still want to hump and it's actually a dominance game, female and/or male tasseling.

The pack leader can put a stop to it anytime they want with one sharp 'tsssk'.

You want to accuse someone? The accused has the right to FACE their accuser in court. Show up or shut up, and no hiding behind a hood. And shame on the officer saying an accusation had been made WITHOUT a proper report or charges being filed. Then the accuser is named.
