Quite an interesting little read and there seems to be some evidence to support the the Army is violating some serious laws in targeting children under 17 for recruitment.

Yeah, just one more reckless anti - American who won't see that individuals are responsible for their own welfare and behavior.

UGH..... As if the rest of the world doesn't bombard their youth with images of war and mayhem and "come live the good life". Let's be even handed, please.....

Just like in the movie theater when they see those great trailers about the army and the good life -- if you don't like 'em, walk out. That's the American way. If you walk out, you can only take it one way....

A dozen or so years ago I got the notion that Nintendo was the Japanese revenge for Hiroshima and Nagasaki. A payback to take over your minds.

Then I realized the plot is even more dastardly than that.

Being sarcastic there dd? Where is anything I wrote demostrably anti-american? I said it was an interesting read without any commetary of my own.

Hell, I doubt you even read the entire article. You probably got as far as children being marketed violent videogames and then went off on your rant.

Go back, read it again. Highlight some of the accusations that suggest the American military is actively recruiting minors, then perhaps we can have an non-reactionary discussion. The article is about much more than big bad scary bush out there to eat our children.

I've seen quite a few of your posts in the past and quite frankly I'm
disappointed by this one.

What do you think about this?

Quote:
According to Colonel Wardynski, who originally thought up selling the Army to children through video games, "a well executed game would put the Army within the immediate decision-making environment of young Americans

Quote:

According to Colonel Wardynski, players who play for a long time and do extremely well may "just get an e-mail seeing if [they'd] like any additional information on the Army."

Quote:
Most troubling of all, these recruitment and training techniques are targeted at children. Apart from sanitizing the violence of war, the Army toned down the gore in the game to get a Teen rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board

Anyone knows that if you are marketing a game for people to enjoy simply for the mere fun of it you make it as gory as possible as that is what sells in the current market. Why do you think the gore was tuned down in order to attrack a younger market? Because they want all children to enjoy the thrill of combat?? Rolling Eyes

To wit; No I didn't read the article. I believe the military would never do this and your assumptions otherwise are just some subconscious attempt at revenge for being such a poor video game player and virtual killer. Get over it.

PS. It was the communists that went by the motto - "get 'em young". So can't be Americans doing this.... Unless you are saying Americans are Communists and that would be crazy! So everything must be A Ok.

He is trying, unsuccessfully, to teach us a poetic lesson about anti-Americanism from a poorly done impersonation of Gopher. He's prolly high from his aromatherapy candles again.
