I was at the Atlanta Consulate today regarding my visa; I told them that I wanted a multi-entry visa, and they said that was not allowed. Why is this? They said it was because it was only a one year visa. I say, that is a long time to be in one country for someone who likes to travel.

What to do? Is there a way I can get a multi-entry visa, or will I have to ask permission (aka pay a bunch of money) each time I leave the country... Confused

Visit Immigration when you arrive in Korea, pay 50,000 won, get multi re-entry permit.

Easy! Smile

that doesn't make sense. someone there doesn't understand your request. i got my visa from ATL, and, as usual, it was a multiple entry visa. from what i was led to believe, all US citizens automatically get a multiple entry visa when they receive the E-2 for korea. (please correct me if i am wrong, those of you who know for sure.)

In my experience, what was said above is correct -- you should automatically get a multiple-entry. However, in my further experience, everyone working at the Atlanta consulate is completely clueless. I've hand-delivered my applications to DC since my last bad experience with Atlanta.
