I'm looking for a massage therapist who speaks English and is qualified in trigger point therapy releases.

Please let me know if you know anyone or can do it yourself.

Thanks.

Pack up and head to Thailand. Massages are around $5.00 an hour there. Here in ROK they are about 70-80 bucks a pop. Otherwise go to the sauna, works similarly well.

Apparently I need to more specific, I have tried a whole bunch of places. "Sports massage" is generally crap here, just someone beating on your back. I'm not looking for a feel-good massage, I need one who's trained in working out trigger points.

Thanks again.

I've seen ads for this place on Facebook. Might be worth checking out:

Nails, Eyebrows and Eyelashes-

Spa Day-
This lavender-scented day spa near the entrance of UN village is a great place to release stress and feel like a pampered princess for a day. The Spa Day nail technicians are experts at amazing manicures, pedicures, nail tips, air brushing and nail art. If you have a toenail that has fallen off, they can even replace it with acrylic! This relaxing oasis has such a soothing atmosphere, once you get there; you are tempted to keep adding treatments to your day at the spa.
Besides nails, Spa Day does brilliant eyebrow, lip, body and bikini area waxing. Ask for Tina if you want to get a proper Brazilian wax. Their basic facials are truly a slice of heaven! Not only do you get a fantastic facial, but you also get a neck and arm massage with it! If you choose, you can also have a foot massage added. There are also all kinds of massage from shiatsu to Swedish. They are used to dealing with men as well, so theres no need to be shy if you want to come in for a metrosexual manicure or wax.
Spa Day is near the entrance of UN Village in Hannam Dong. The building is called Liberty House and Spa Day is on the 2nd flr. 02) 793-0777

I spent some time looking for that. I hope that works... I hope you feel better....

I am a chiropractor who lives and teaches english in Korea. If I can give a short lesson on the body -maybe it will help. Sorry not trying to sound arrogant. The nervous system controls the muscles and if you have trigger points its a sign that your nervous system is over contracting and needs to be re-set. Phillip Yoo is a chiro in Seoul he can do this for you. A good accupuncturist could also help. Trigger point therapy can work in some cases but usually the release can not happen by just working on the muscle. It just takes the tension off for a while. The quality of techniques here is much lower than the west because the Korean docs keep competition away. If you get back to the west try Sot or network chiropractic. Here to relieve trigger points-stay way from coffee, alcohol and drink more water. Get your stress levels down if you are stresed. Also if you are an exercise junky -do less exercise until your body can unwind. Meditation and Yoga are also some considerations. Hope this helps.

Thanks all for the replies and PMs.

I found Healing hands felt nice, which is a great thing, but it wasn't a healing massage at all.

Acupuncture didn't actually help that much either.

Is there a Chinatown in Seoul? (I live in the south and have not yet gone up to Seoul.)

I found the best therapeutic massage to be Chinese therapeutic massage accomplished by blind men. In Shanghai, it cost maybe $7 for an hour. Great at draining the lymph nodes, for circulation, and reworking some arthritic conditions. I would really like to know if it exists here.
