When money is transfered between one Korean bank account and another, is the transfer instantaneous, or does it take a while to go through?

I do this every month. By the time I finish my 5 minute walk from Bank A to bank B, the money is there.

One more thing. If it is done via ATM on a Friday evening, is the money still placed immediately in the recipient's account?

It is instant (unless you are dealing with savings which could take up to 24 hrs) so if a school says that they have paid you now but the bank doesn't say so, the school is lying.

Yeah I transfer to myself every month and usually only get around to it on weekends - I check my account immediately afterwards and it's always been there (knock on wood!)
