|
|
I have some friends who are in their early-mid twenties, from all over the world, who want to go dancing in Seoul tonight (we're out in the sticks, all doing the same program). Can anyone recommend a good club with good, varied music and a decent atmosphere? I assume somewhere in Hongdae is the best bet? (Actually, I think everyone is planning to meet in Hongdae so recommendations in Hongdae are very appreciated!)
Also, what hours are clubs generally open Saturdays? |

ska 2 next to club ff is free to get in for foreigners and there is plenty of room to dance. not the best place in the world but you can dance....in the main room they usually play a mix of popular tunes from hip hop to house, and downstairs they place elecro stuff.
ff is a good laugh if you like indie rock, and there will be a band on. its about 10000 to get in but its worth it if u get there just before 11 for the free drinks....
m2 is not a bad club if you dont mind paying a cover. big dance club and they play what i think is called 'electro house' but *beep* knows. i quite like it. |

Yeah, in general M2 has some decent DJ's. They usually have a good mix of K/non-K DJ's as well. There's two whities that DJ together sometimes. They're quite good, if you're lucky enough to catch them. |

Yea M2 is the place to go in Hongdae if you want House/Trance rather than Hip-Hop. Q-Vo (directly above M2) is Hip-Hop and usually has a pretty good crowd, yet there is still some room to dance (at times not so much at peak times). Don't even bother going to Harlem or NB unless you enjoy life as a sardine. Catchlight (sometimes called Club Catch), depending on the theme of the night can be pretty sweet as well. On the other hand, it can also be nearly completely empty at times. |

I was there last night (for the millionth time). A good place for dancing and meeting new people. I think it's probably better on Friday night (late) than Saturday, though. |

Where exactly is "the bar" located in Sinchon?
(maybe you could post its location on 'Wikimapia.org')
What type of crowd go there?
(half waygookin/korean? Uni-students? etc) |

This might not be exact, but if Hyundai Dept. is on your right, go one block more and take a right. You pretty much go straight several blocks and it will be on the left. The street ends in a "T" and it's on that last block. There's a white and red sign reading "The Bar" located on maybe the second story of the building, but the bar itself is in the basement.
Sincheon can be a tough place to find shit, but I think those directions are good.
edit: It's a mix of Koreans, expat teachers, company workers (both Korean and expat), and general riff-raff. The place is small, but when it's crowded it's usually a good vibe. |

I've been there three or four times. It's good for letting loose and dancing. And I usually never dance. People are generally quite friendly there.
And it's good for screwdriver or cranberry and vodka pitchers. |
