I'm not upset about anything. None of this has personally affected me. It's just that when a GROUP of people (not just me) posted that fees were being charged to South Africans by certain recruiters, we were all called LIARS by certain posters. I have been especially targeted by this group.
I have been personally called out on at least three threads.
Why me? I don't know. I'm not the only one posting about this subject.

The truth is that those who posted about the fees have been proven to be CORRECT.

Some need to accept that fact and move on.

OP,

You asked me a question, I pm'd you with my answer but you didnt' respond. What's wrong don't you think informing the Native English Teacher about how they can be cheated and then be treated unfairly in court is interesting?

Oh, I did respond... it didn't get to you? I wrote you back as soon as you wrote to me.

Please check again.

By the way, does anyone know if Texas Tech is a good school?

That police site is one of the funniest things I have ever seen online in Korea.
Hilarious.

What's the big deal with all the animosity with this guy who did the podcast?
Am I missing something? How did he become public enemy #1?

The podcast was great. Keep them coming.

I don't know Ann or Joyce but Henry is good people..better than the other Korean thieves passing themselves off as recruiters.

I'd like to hear a podcast with Wylies99 and all the disgruntled SA teachers who were charged fees by this recruiter.

Both BASSEXPANDER and WYLIES99 seem to be intelligent and credible. Let's duke it out!

Thanks, AK.

I think it would be better served having Korvia and Whylie duke it out, but there really isn't much to be said. Whylie doesn't like that Korvia has worked with teachers recruited by AOCET in Capetown, South Africa. Part of AOCET's business model is that they search for an recruit teachers who might not otherwise have found out about a job in Korea, and charge a fee to the teachers for their work.

Is it Korvia's fault that AOCET charged the teachers a finders fee, or that the teachers failed to do their research on the internet to learn that they could have contacted a company like Korvia directly and gotten a job for free? In my opinion, there is no use arguing for teachers who fail to do their research. Such an interview/debate between the two would come down to a he said/she said moral debate, and would probably be a waste of my time.

Whylies99 is merely seeking to slur Korvia's name, simply because he cannot have any effect on what AOCET is doing. He can't hurt AOCET, so he's trying to hurt Korvia -- a legitimate placement agency which DOES NOT charge teachers for placement. Korvia has hundreds of satisfied and happy teachers, and not charged them a thing for their services.

In any case, Ann/Korvia's side of the issue can be heard on my podcast.

Are you going to put any of the big whiners from here at Dave's on? It could be fun listening to them whine at full bore without being slowed down by their typing skills.

But in Wylie's defense, it is a concern of teachers that recruiters, be they AOCET in South Africa, or elsewhere, might start charging teachers for their work. Personally, I wouldn't want to have to pay a recruiter -- who would?

No matter what you feel about whatever part of the issue, it's good that we are all talking about it and are aware of what is going on.

I have NEVER flamed bassexpander. He seems to want to try to get me banned by flaming me and constantly bringing up my username. Thousands of people in Korea know about the recruiters fees (agency fees) being charged to South Africans and collected by Korvia.
When a couple of people, (I wasn't the only one), posted about it on dave's, we were all called LIARS and friends of Korvia denied that Korvia had anything to do with the fees, in any way shape or form. They also flamed those of us, (more than just me), who posted about the fee issue.

Now, this podcast interview with Korvia was posted, and, in the podcast, Korvia officials admit to "collecting" the fees from South Africansand that they knew all about the fees and "tried" to limit the fees. It's all in the podcast, starting at 16:30. bassexpander conducted the interview and posted the podcast. Since this was pointed out, on this thread, bassexpander has done nothing but flame me repeatedly and, now, evidently blames everything on me. Why? I don't know, but I have shown, in the past, and while discussing this issue, that I post everything I have to say and I stick to the issue.
I have NO INTEREST in "debating" bassexpander, or anyone else, on this issue, because Korvia has admitted, on the podcast, that they knew about the recruiters fees for South Africans, Korvia collected the fees from South Africans, and that Korvia even thought that the fees were too high and communicated this to the "agency" in South Africa. IT'S ALL IN THE PODCAST posted by bassexpander.
Why won't bassexpander stop whining about his own podcast and just drop the issue?

I NEVER "slurred" anyone's name. Everything I (and other posters) have posted about fees charged to South Africanshas been confirmed, by Korvia officials, in the podcast posted by bassexpander.

Why bring up my alma mater? You are trying to imply that I posted something about you on another board. I don't do that kind of thing.

I'm not saying you did do it. I think we all know that there are some pretty crazy people on here who try to make trouble for the mods and others.
