I gotta go to Korea next week, and in a couple weeks time, I hope to book a flight to Macau or Hong Kong.

1. In Korea, everyone knows that if you want to travel at peak times you must book tickets well in advance and that the prices are jacked up. Having said that it's possible to get deals in summer, New Years or Chuseok but difficult.
2. Korea isn't boring to travel around. If you are only interested in the beach and getting drunk then I would agree Korea is nothing like Ko Samui, Pattaya, Vang Vieng, Kuta etc. There are a lot of sites to see in Korea, both culturally and naturally - take the time to see it.
3. If your holiday time is short why waste the money anyway? Save it until your contract is done and then take a real vacation with it and it will go a lot further. If you really must get out of Korea for a break just pick a weekend and hop over to China, Taiwan or Japan for a break at non-peak times and it will be cheap.
4. About always being quoted Korean Air or Asiana. I've been here on and off since 1998 and never get quoted those airlines first. Ask for the cheapest deals. |
