I need some help, fast.
My rent is due saturday and I don't have enough $$. Do you guys know of an ATM, preferably in the Myoung-Dong area, where I can withdraw money from my Wells Fargo account in the USA? The card has the VISA logo.
I tried at a Citibank and from my Shinhan account, but they only accept domestic cards.
thanks in advance. |

Most GS-25s have international atms. That is where I go in a pinch to withdraw some money from the vault at home.

Also, I know that a lot of the Korean banks have a special ATM for foreigners. They are called "Global" Atms. There's usually a sign showing the Visa, MC, Cirrus, etc posted on the ATM. These work with overseas debit cards to withdraw cash. I used my etrade account on one the other day at a SC First Bank. |

A Korea Exchange Bank branch (not just an ATM lobby) should have at least one Global Service ATM. Which one may change from day to day. Be aware that some KEBs have two ATM lobbies, maybe one at the front and one at the back entrance.
Convenience store and subway ATMs are another likely choice, but don't always have English service. |

That KEB in the Itaewon burger king accepts American cards. I used it last weekend. As you enter the Burger King, the ATM is immediately on the left inside the foyer with the 1st one being domestic and the other 2 being international. |

there's a HUGE KEB in Myeong Dong - near Eujiro station -
anyway - almost all KEBs have intl atms as do many of the KB*s - just look for a larger bank as opposed to a smallish one. |

Yes, they are marked differently. Be prepared to pay a fee for an international withdrawal (mine is $5). |

Yeah, banks are like that.. I guess it's too late to look into a credit union (usually no fee) but you might try a PayPal account.. no fee last time I used it |
