Korean brand. Just bought a 160gig for 125,000. They have larger sizes too.

Saw a fair number of them in Costco. Don't remember the brand name.

2.5 or 3.5?

I just searched...3.5's w/ enclosures are a little over 50,000, 2.5's 60,000 (160g). Sure u didn't buy two for that price? Shocked

BTW, 3.5 500g w/ enclosures are going for as little as 90,000. Wink

Good luck w/ those 3.5 160g's....if they were 2.5's you'd have no problem selling but I don't think many will be interested in 3.5 160g's unless ur gonna let them go for dirt cheap.

What is a 1tb ? is it 1000GB ? - Didn't know they existed - would love to buy one (or two)

Oh the 160GB's - I will probably throw all 5 in the trash....

I just bought a Seagate 500gb for 130,000 from gmarket.

This is my first external hard drive. How do you guys use it best? Should I keep what I want to use on a day to day basis on the internal, and storage on the external??

I bought a 500GB 7600RPM Samsung HDD and a USB external hard-case seperate from the computer building in Yongsan (the one with the big Gigabyte banner outside) for 120,000, they even put it together. Will be returning for a Terabyte in a bit. However cost-wise per gigabyte the terabyte is usually not as worth it over the 500GB. Also, Costco has an external terabyte for about 329,000, boxed and ready to go.

Yeah sounds about right. The case is ok, no fan but I do not have it running constantly usually only for loading onto my PC and backing up, otherwise I would go a bit better especially in this humidity a fan is rather a good idea. And thanks on the speed, 7200RPM, figured I was close enough without checking what I was talking about Wink

Yep, they have them at Costco. The Western Digital 1TB, can't remember the price since I'm not needing one yet.

Just to keep you updated -

I passed throught Singapore airport on Sunday and bought 2 x 1tb external hardrives for 220,000won each...

they both come with free "System Mechanic" + "Search + Recover 4" and both have "Firewire" + "E-sata" - although I do not know what they are...

they are running well (using a Singapore-Korean 110~240volt adaptor...)
