I've read on this site that it is in the travel agent sticky, but the travel agent is acting sketchy in that she lacks attention to detail and delivers poor customer service. I bought a flight from Kim, waited days to get the payment info, had problems paying for it yesterday due to her giving a wrong account #, but got that corrected, paid her, and then I'm still awaiting receipt of my E-ticket. I called her 5 hours ago and she just said yea yea and hung up, but didn't email it.

What's the deal? I will call the airline if I don't have it by Monday morning to check that it's a valid as I only have the itinerary.

There is a thread from last year on this site with someone having a similar problem with Unique Travel, but it was never reported on what happened. http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=85952&highlight=unique

I don't understand why these travel agents don't set up sites that you can get quotes and pay for tickets on that immediately send you the Eticket and tell you thanks for doing business, have a great trip. Service is shitty, it takes a lot of effort to communicate with them, and complete a transaction. I just don't want to show up at the airport and be refused to board the aircraft.

I've always received my e-tics within a half hour of transferring funds.

yeah - something's buggers there - my travel agent also sends the tkt along pronto unless it's one i'm gonna pick up in person or we make other arrangements ahead of time -

she sounds awful rude - will definitely never go there! sorry you're having such a difficult time - hope it's worth it for you.

i find unique travel is rather flaky.

i called and emailed them for info and quotes and they never got back to me, they don't seem to care much for their potential customers.

i prefer shoestring.

I think they're legit but they're pretty stupid. Tried booking a ticket with them earlier this year but they buggered up the dates. They did give us a full refund of our money though, and in the end got a much better deal online at www.onlinetour.co.kr.

OP, is this your first time buying an airline ticket? You seem to have a lot of posts about something that's usually pretty simple (although admittedly less so in Korea).

NO, I bought one from Kangsan last year with no issues and bought tickets many times in America and Europe with no issues. I've done everything outside of Korea that I'm trying to do in Korea, but usually have many issues with doing business of any sort in Korea. Did it take 6 months for your refund like their site states? Did you have to get a Korean to purchase off of www.onlinetour.co.kr for you? I found my flight for 285,000 won on there, but when I try to buy it, it wants a log on ID and then my ARC number doesn't work. I better get help when using a Korean site as I can't read and understand everything on it.

I just called Thai Airways reservations office in Seoul and they're telling me I'm on the wait list, but no confirmed reservation nor payment has been made for my flight. This upsets me greatly, because Unique travel sold the ticket to me as confirmed, but the confirmation number nor the reservation number are valid in the Thai Airways system. I'll call my agent when she begins work at 2PM today. This is why she's been blowing me off.

What do you think is the deal? Should I be worried? I just want my confirmed Eticket as to be confident that I'm going with no issues of being refused boarding.

If you are on a wait list you don't have a confirmed reservation, if a seat comes availlable it may or may not be offered to you depending on how high up the waitlist you are.

So travel agents sell air tickets as being confirmed when they're not? I guess she's waiting for a seat to come available before issuing my E ticket despite telling me it's a confirmed flight. Even the travel trip viewer Worldspan reservation site says confirmed where it shows the itinerary.

So she's blowing me off since she really doesn't have what she sold me? I'll give her more chances, before saying it's fraud, but it doesn't look good.

So I called Unique Travel this afternoon around 2PM and was told I'd get my Eticket today, but no word; no email.

Do you think they are still trying to actually buy the air ticket they had already sold me?

Do you think they are stringing me along for another reason?

Anyone else have this issue with Unique Travel or other agents?

If you are only on a waiting list then yes it does sound like they are still hoping to be able to purchase the ticket for you, of course there are no guarantees they will be able to. Did you confront her with what you were told by the airline? Even though you have a reservation number this is most likely one that relates to your booking with the agent and has nothing to do with the actual flight reservation.

Oh yes, I did ask her if the flight was confirmed and she said yes. She was like, didn't you receive your Eticket already? Nope, didn't. I then told her I had called Thai Airways reservation office this morning who said that I was not confirmed, but only on the waiting list. She said she'd take care of it today, but nothing come of it.

Kimberly lied to me. She sold me the ticket as confirmed, then failed to deliver, and then is stringing me along. Lies.

What can I do? File a report with the Seoul police if I don't get my flight as paid for since it was promised as confirmed before paying for it? This is fraud.

She could be waiting to buy the ticket at auction a few days before departure date.

I went with Unique Travel once; they got the best price for the itinerary I was looking for, and I had no problems with them. I hope this works out alright in the end!

Sojourner,

I can't believe how sorry I feel for you. Not joking... if that happened to me I'd go friggin insane. If I was you, I'd be so pissed off. I can say that even though I don't know what the outcome would be, I'd show up in person at their office and RAISE HELL western style.

Start using English faster than they've ever heard, and make sure you roll in words like "police" and "authorities" and "fraud" and "criminal" and any other words to try to scare them.

You tell them you want your ticket or you want your money back... NOW.

I'd be dragging police in... claiming they "stole" my money, and then making a fool out of anyone there.

I would try to make them lose as much face as possible.

I wish you the best of luck, and please post the results of what happens because I'm really curious. If something like that happens to me I honestly would go crazy.

Got good news. I received my confirmed Eticket today in my email and called the airline to verify I was confirmed. Very Happy

Unique Travel were just buying the confirmed ticket after I bought it when a seat became available. This really is not a problem if I were told this instead of being lied to. The confusion came from lying. Funny thing is they weren't even trying to be dishonest since they delivered and get me the best fare. 525,000 won for a RT to Bangkok on Thai Airways while the airline is asking 1.2 million and other agents wanted 600,000 to 900,000 won. So in the end, it looks like its turning out to be a win/win situation.

I would recommend Unique Travel for decent fares, but not the best service due to minor lies and mis communication. After all this is a budget travel agent. Laughing Very Happy
