There's a shop in Apgujeong which has Time Outs and Twirls - walk out of Exit 2 and walk straight down the road past the CGV on the left, and the grocery/sweet shop is on the right hand side of the road. I've requested birthday presents from my mum consisting of: Maltesers, Crunchies and Vieneese Truffle bars and Butter Tablet from Thorntons. Mmmm.... |

Oh all this chocolate talk is making me crave it.
I hate Hershey's too, it tastes like garbage.
I found Toblerone at the corner store, and I'm a big fan of Dove.
I also saw a nice selection of dark chocolate at HomePlus (Lindt maybe). |
3 rd in agreement about Hershey's. It barely passes as chocolate to me. Too sweet, not very chocolatey, and not creamy. Yet, it's a legendary brand. That just shows you the power of advertising. People just believe whatever you tell them. If I had enough money to hire a top advertising agency to make an ad saying that my butt smelled like roses, I bet a lot of people would believe it. anyway...
I also agree with you about Dove chocolate. It's very good.
Cadbury's is good and I am surprised the the OP has trouble finding it in Korea. You need to go to the foreign groceries section of any major supermarket. I've even seen it in smaller neighborhood supermarkets that also have a shelf or two of foreign products.
It's interesting that Koreans segregate their foreign groceries from their own. On the surface, it looks racist, but on the other hand in North America, we don't have the slightest idea where our food comes from. That might be a good thing to do for food safety and for those who want to just buy locally to shrink your carbon footprint.
In terms of Korean chocolate, Crunky by Lottee is not a bad bar. |

Not true unless you live in Itaewon.
OP, you will find it in Itaewon. You can walk out the Itaewon subway station and find it in the small convenience store across from KFC/Hamilton, a couple doors down from Seoul Pub. |

I saw Cadbury Roses in the grocery part of Lotte department store last week. Mind you, this was in Busan, but perhaps the ones in Seoul will also carry them? |

The bars of Whole Nut etc are in loads of small shops/convenience stores/kiosks around where I live (Kangnam/Kyodae/Seocho) as well as in Lotte Mart near here too.
I don't buy it as it is NZ/Aus. If I am gonna eat it would rather have the UK taste I grew up with. |

So, how does one go about getting some Cadbury chocolate in Korea? I've heard they have branches in Singapore, Japan and a Asia Pacific expansion campaign but have yet to see a peep of them here. The UK homepage doesn't deliver to Korea, so what to do!! |

The Lottemarts in Ilsan had them when I first arrived, and, then one day they were gone. Lottemart put some Lotte Korean knock-off crap in their place with similiar wrappers. |

What's kinda funny about this subject is that almost every Brit and South African I've met has craved Cadburys, so, now, I try to tell every newbie from those places where to get Cadburys.
They may not always pay close attention, at first, (especially know-it-all South Africans ), but within a few weeks I get calls or emails- "Where can I get a Cadbury? I know you told me, but I forgot." |

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but they also have Cadbury's chocolate in the International Supermarket in the basement of the Volvo building near Samgakji Station (Line 6). |
